CLS’2015 excursion to Sylhet
The CLS 2015 students went on a three day-long overnight trip to Sylhet and Sreemongol from August 21-23, 2015. The excursion targets cultural immersion and community interaction in regions outside Dhaka highlighting the geographical, cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity of Bangladesh.
To this end, the students visited Khashia and Patra village in Jaintapur, Sylhet; tea gardens, rivers, lakes, gas fields and Lawachhara reserved forests in the region of Sylhet and Sreemongol. The delicacies of Sylhet hosted by local community, Monipuri handloom, “seven layer tea”, boat ride on Lalakhal and elephant ride were some of the highlights of the trip.
